BIGDATE Snacks was founded by Neda Hume, formerly known professionally as Neda Rafiezadeh Kermani, and inspired by the principles of the Mediterranean diet—one of the world's most celebrated approaches to healthy eating. Drawing from the rich culinary traditions of Persia, the Mediterranean region, Neda set out to create snacks that are both nourishing and delicious while filling a gap in the U.S. market for wholesome, minimally processed options. Her vision led to the creation of Date Swirls, a unique innovation that combines simple ingredients, natural sweetness, and Mediterranean-inspired flavors.

At the heart of every Date Swirl are dates, a staple of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine that have been enjoyed for thousands of years for their natural sweetness, fiber, and nutritional value. Paired with carefully selected spices such as Ceylon cinnamon, ginger, maca and cardamom, each recipe reflects the Mediterranean philosophy of using simple, plant-based ingredients to create flavorful foods.
